Celebrated annually on May 29th, Mount Everest Day honours Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay's 1953 summit of the world's highest peak, which was the first successful ascent. In addition to commemorating the first ascent of the peak, Mount Everest Day has global significance in several ways.
This free one-day event is the start up to Calgary's vibrant festival season. Citizens shake off the winter blues and reintroduce themselves to the thriving creative community in Mission and Uptown Calgary.
Seniors from diverse backgrounds will be appreciated. In addition, based on their contributions to the communities, some will be honoured at the event.
